Is Religious Freedom Disappearing?
The United States has long been considered a bastion of religious liberty in a world full of religious exclusivism. The Founding Fathers enshrined the right to practice personal religion in the U.S. Bill of Rights. Millions have found a refuge from religious persecution within the United States. But that could be changing.

A recent report from First Liberty Institute shows that incidents of religious intolerance have doubled in the United States over the past six years. Cases include people of all faiths in a variety of settings—including public meetings, workplaces, and the military. According to the report, the number of incidents is probably much higher, since many don’t know where to turn to for help when they face discrimination.

The book of Revelation foretells a land that will provide eternal safety for God’s people. But before that land is accessible, it predicts a transformation in the United States from a place of safety to that of deception and force. “I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed” (Revelation 13:11, 12).

A careful study of the Scriptures shows that we are living in the time of this lamb-like beast that speaks like a dragon and requires allegiance to a false system of worship. The final conflict will center on the choices we make to follow or reject God’s law and true worship.

The Lord gave a special blessing to those who keep His Sabbath holy: “Blessed is the man who does this … who keeps from defiling the Sabbath … and choose[s] what pleases Me … and love[s] the name of the Lord, to be His servants—everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, and holds fast My covenant” (Isaiah 56:2, 4, 6).

In these last days, God is looking for people who will put Him first and keep His covenant. The final events will happen quickly! Click here is a FREE resource that will help you explain to your friends the key role the United States will play in earth’s history.
