And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on. Luke 23:54

“Friday is the day of preparation. Time can then be devoted to making the necessary preparation for the Sabbath and to thinking and conversing about it. Nothing which will in the sight of Heaven be regarded as a violation of the holy Sabbath should be left unsaid or undone, to be said or done upon the Sabbath.”

Sabbath Tip
An important part of honoring the sacred seventh day is preparing for it. Tidying up your living quarters, preparing food, getting your church clothes ready, and wrapping up business for the week are relevant Friday activities. Taking care of these things before the beginning of the Sabbath makes it easier to reverence and be blessed by God’s holy day.
